TONY'S RESUME

A native of Washington, DC.,
at the beginning of his career Tony was discovered and picked up by INEZ and CHARLIE FOX (song hit: MOCKING BIRD)
and became the group's bandleader, playing gigs in DC, North Carolina and New York at the 'Apollo Theatre',
later he joined PEACHES and HERB (song hit: REUNITED) and went on tour with groups like
JAMES BROWN and most of all - MARTHA and THE VANDELLAS.

At the historical HOWARD THEATRE in Washington DC,
Tony Thomas appeared on stage as a backup guitar artist for

GENE CHANDLER, WILSON PICKETT, THE JEWELS, PAUL ANKA,
CHUCK JACKSON, CARL ANDERSON, WINFIELD PARKER,
ARRON NEVILLE, JOE TEX, WALTER JACKSON,
SAM & DAVE (at the Miami Stadium)... to name a few.

He also backed up the COMMODORES (before LIONEL RICHIE left the group)
and THE DELLS at the Mark IV in Washington DC.

Working for PHIL FLOWERS, Tony was featured in his Shows,
introduced as musician and bandleader.
In New York, at the 'Copacabana', columnist John Wilson of NY Times
caught Tony's act with DON RICKELS. Wilson noted, that

"Tony Thomas was more interesting and
entertaining than the headline acts".

Phil Flowers then was called by several agents that tried to contact Tony Thomas for a recording contract.
Unfortunately Phil told them Tony was not available and also he wasn't "ready".

He did sit in with Tony at 'RANDS' in Washington, DC!
MUHAMMED ALI, who had a boxing bout with him,
came on stage at the 'FORTY THIEVES', Hampton/Bermuda.
Tony was motioning like he would box him so he stated:
"You might as well go home and dream about
what you are trying to do!"
Everybody was laughing and Tony's still dreamin'....

Replacing SAMMY DAVIS jr. once he also played at the
N.Y. Copacabana and in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Many performances took him to the 'Caesar's Palace' in Las Vegas on the billings with such stars as
ROBERT GOULET, TOTIE FIELDS, NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND,
TINA TURNER and WAYNE COCHRAN and THE CC RIDERS.

Tony's next stage performance was with
SONNY TURNER of the 'Platters'
singing side by side in Orlando, Florida.

TELLY 'KOJAK' SAVALLAS completed his Show in Alta Monte Springs
and afterwards came to visit Tony at the SHERATON HOTEL, Orlando and sang a song WITH him.

RAY CHARLES brushed by, coming from the Airport to the
SHERATON in Orlando, heard Tony imitating him and sent him
a bottle of champagne with a note that
'he was very impressed'.

After 17 years in Orlando performing for DISNEY,
Tony Thomas was recruited by Bob Spoto to open his Supper Club in Seminole, Fl.

Having being a successful impersonator in the Entertainment world
the audience has always been very accepting and is still
creating packed houses, wherever Tony performs.

Five years, from 1996 until 2001 Tony's been appearing Tuesdays - Thursdays in the Lounge and
Fridays and Saturdays every single weekend with a Floor Show
at Baypointe, which was a beautiful 'Supper Club', owned and operated by a German Lady.

Two-hour non-stop-shows include impersonations and lots of Comedy -
as well as other Entertainers, and the audience used to be glued to their seats
"having the time of their lives".

Coming from Orlando, Florida, he opened and entertained at
SPOTO'S SUPPER CLUB for 3 years.

He trained and educated a lot of young talents
and Entertainers, which he still enjoys very much.
